NSRAA

The Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association Inc. (NSRAA) is a non-profit fishermen's organization which conducts salmon enhancement projects throughout northern southeast Alaska. In its effort to diversify itself, NSRAA entered into a long-term lease agreement with the City and Borough of Sitka to build and operate a new Coho salmon hatchery at the site. They are currently leasing 60,180 square feet of uplands. The primary objective of the proposed hatchery is to provide additional coho salmon for the commercial salmon fishery as well as sports, charter, and subsistence fisheries. NSRAA started construction in summer 2007.
